Sam Hagens and Welmoed Sijtsma have temporarily acquired the late evening of NPO 1, but have to be recovered now. They go on vacation. “I think this is so easy -going!”
The unbridled ambition that you saw with earlier generations, you are increasingly seeing missing from today’s TV talents. It is a dream for many presenters to be able to make the late talk show of NPO 1, but Sam Hagens and Welmoed Sijtsma are currently throwing it a bit with it. They are mainly concerned with their next vacation.

NPO 1 has asked Sam and Welmoed not to stop their talk show at the end of the TV summer at the end of this month, but at the end of the TV summer. Five weeks? Many a TV talent would seize that opportunity with both hands. But the two young dogs from WNL? They mainly care about their vacation.
The two go on holiday for a total of four weeks, so that both Sam and Welmoed will be shown solo for two weeks. “Yes, isn’t that very crazy? I think this is of a laziness that I actually save back from,” says their NPO colleague Marcel van Roosmalen today in the podcast Another day.

Marcel finds the lack of ambition striking. “You hope a bit of this generation,: well, those are two people who want to, they want to realize. This is what you have lobbyed for years?”
He continues: “This is really a warning for Sam and Welmoed. I think they let it run now. I would have brought that Frank of the morning TV once. Then you still have a duo.”
Frank also busy
That conscious Frank, Frank van Leeuwen, is also too busy: he spends on festivals for whole days, can be seen on Instagram. He makes no sense at all to stay at home and interview politicians. “They are still too young to be able to do it,” concludes Marcel.
According to him, that Sam and Welmoed have been going solo for a while is self -overestimating. A replacement just has to be put next to it, he thinks. “But then they both want to have a large part of the shine and then they will do it apart.”
Why vacation?
Where does Tina Nijkamp think that the lack of ambition comes from Sam and Welmoed? She writes on her analysis canal: “Perhaps the ambition at Sam and Welmoed has become less because viewing figures are left behind and because Pauw & De Wit received a temporary service guarantee until the end of 2026.”
Next year they will at most stay the summer bar show. “And therefore not coming in high season. Maybe it has been those disappointments to come to this holiday now.”
