Hello, Luz has closed an agreement with Tesla to market and install domestic batteries Powerball in Spain. The Catalan firm and the American company began their relationship at the end of 2018 and are now entering the market for household batteries in Spain. With these devices, customers have the possibility of increasing their monthly savings by up to 100% (or more) and households will be able to prepare for the electrification of their energy consumption on the path to decarbonizing the economy, according to Holaluz.
This agreement is part of the company’s plan announced on April 26 to continue to expand the solar business by combining photovoltaic installations with flexible assets such as batteries or chargers for electric vehicles.
This strategy is key to maximize the potential of green surpluses“allowing homeowners produce, consume and manage their own green energy in a more flexible way, while promoting greater penetration of renewable electricity production in the system outside of daylight hours. It is a way of democratizing access to renewable energy by taking advantage of the use of the proximity network”.
The alliance with Tesla will allow Holaluz to promote its roadmap “to build the most impactful green energy community in Europe by unlocking the potential of electrifying energy demand with the development of distributed solar energy and storage.”

The company, which announced in April its plan to achieve 37,000-39,000 facilities under management by the end of 2024 and more than 63,000 installations by the end of 2025, expects the penetration of domestic batteries in Spain to accelerate substantially in the coming years along with the exponential growth expected for solar installations. In addition, Holaluz estimates that more than half of its photovoltaic installations will include a domestic battery in the short term.
Tesla Powerwall is a integrated battery system that stores solar energy for residential, commercial and industrial use. With Tesla Powerwall, one of the batteries with the highest capacity (13.5kWh) and highest power (5kW continuous and 7kW peak) on the market, Holaluz customers maximize savings while avoiding CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, according to a statement of both.
