De Zorg van Toen will take over Hoeve Loevestein from 1 January 2023. With this, under the name Zorglandgoed Donderen, there will be a kind of restart at the site on the Norgerweg in Donderen.
Care farm Hoeve Loevestein closed its doors on Saturday 1 October. The reason was that there were too few residents to keep the company profitable. The management of Hoeve Loevestein therefore decided to put the business up for sale. Sixteen employees were made redundant.
A large part of the staff will return to Norgerweg in Donderen. That says Hans Zethoven, director of De Zorg van Toen. The healthcare provider currently has four operating locations in the Netherlands and will double that number next year. With a location in Donderen.
“We got the team back together,” says Zethoven. “Actually, we were just two weeks late with completing the takeover, because then the staff would not have had to leave at all. But luckily a large part of the staff wanted to return. They find the location unique.”
People who need long-term or so-called bridging care will be living on Norgerweg. “We have room for eighteen residents in total,” says Zethoven. “You can register with us via the De Zorg van Toen site.”
Zorglandgoed Donderen is currently being prepared for the opening on Monday 9 January. “Then the first residents have to be there. The rooms are now being painted and refurbished, so that we can start fresh.”
Zethoven says De Zorg van Toen will take a different approach than their predecessors. “We will monitor quality assurance more closely. We have also asked current parties who provide maintenance to continue to do so at the location.”
There are also plans for informal care homes around the Norgerweg location. “There is a lot of land and we are looking at what is possible with the municipality.”
