Hoeneß does not reject 100 million transfer at Bayern

After adverse and wild weeks at FC Bayern, after reaching the quarter-finals in the Champions League, a little calm seems to have returned to the German record champions for the time being.

Reason enough for Uli Hoeneß to cast a glance in the direction of summer. By then at the latest, rumors about a possible transfer of star striker Harry Kane should be loud again.

FC Bayern is said to have felt for the English striker at Tottenham Hotspur last year, but a transfer did not materialize. Also because the Spurs’ transfer fee for the Munich team was probably too high.

Hoeneß criticizes Bayern goal Kane

After all, Tottenham rejected an alleged 160 million offer from Manchester City, as Hoeneß recently revealed at an “AZ” event in Munich.

In an exclusive interview with “Sky”, the 71-year-old renewed these statements and sorted them: “He (Kane; editor’s note) is almost 30 years old. […] That’s why I said, in this case: it would be great if FC Bayern were to approach such a transfer.”

Would Hoeneß therefore veto if the worst came to the worst? “I would give my private opinion,” he revealed, but: “I’m one of nine and if the other eight say he’s going to be bought, then he’s going to be bought. That’s how it is in a democracy.”

New “transfer tones” from Bayern Honorary President Hoeneß

Hoeneß struck a completely new note when he declared transfers in the three-digit million range at FC Bayern to be possible: “I can imagine that a player will come to FC Bayern who can cost around 100 million, but especially for Kane I voiced my opinion.”

A statement that makes you sit up and take notice, because Hoeneß had always been extremely critical of transfers of this size at Bayern.
