In the summer, FC Bayern should spend a lot of money to get a new top-class centre-forward. One of the top candidates is England captain Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. Former Munich Dieter Hoeneß advises his ex-club against signing the 29-year-old.
“The question arises as to the price-performance ratio. Kane will be 30 in the summer – but Bayern need a striker with whom they can plan for several years. Just like it was with Robert Lewandowski in the past,” emphasized the younger Brother of FCB Honorary President Uli Hoeneß in an interview with the “Abendzeitung”.
The 70-year-old would therefore prefer Victor Osimhen from SSC Napoli and Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt, who were also traded: “They are both excellent, I think they could help Bayern.”
You’re “alright right,” said Hoeneß, who was once under contract with the record champions from 1979 to 1987: “With one of them, the center forward issue would be solved for the next six to eight years.” Such a hammer transfer is, however, “connected with enormous costs”.
The only thing that is clear so far is that the misjudgment that goalgetter Lewandowski would not sign a top-class replacement for FC Barcelona should be corrected as soon as possible.
FC Bayern threatens a season without a title
FC Bayern has experienced a dramatic crash in recent weeks. After the dismissal of coach Julian Nagelsmann, who was replaced by Thomas Tuchel, Munich were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup and the Champions League.
Since the weekend, the star ensemble from Säbener Straße has only been second behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. More than ever, the industry leader, spoiled by success, is threatened with a season without a single title.
