The German hockey women started the home European Championship. The team of national coach Janneke Schopman prevailed 4-1 (4-0) in the opening game on Saturday evening in Mönchengladbach. The selection of the German Hockey Association (DHB), which wants to win the first title after 2013, took the first step towards the semi-finals.
