The Dutch hockey players have won the European title for the fourth time in a row. Frédérique Matla from Valkenswaard, Laura Nunnink from Eindhoven, Margot van Heffen from Tilburg, Joosje Burg from Veghel and Pien Sanders from Udenhout, among others, participated.
The reigning Olympic and world champion was also too strong for Belgium in the final (3-1). The Orange led 2-0 after 5 minutes and then hardly ran into problems in Mönchengladbach.
Lightning start
After a lightning start with hits from Marijn Veen and Freeke Moes, Belgium nevertheless turned out to be a tougher opponent than expected.
The Belgian players seemed to return to the game for a while and even pressed the Orange in the defense in phases. A goal shortly before the break turned out to be decisive for the result. Joosje Burg made the 3-1.
With the Orange and with HC ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Matla – who wears a face protector in Germany because of a broken nose – and Sanders have already won all prizes.
Invincible
It is no surprise that this roster has proved virtually unbeatable over the years.

As European champion, the Netherlands is automatically qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
