Iltalehti asked Resteli, who is responsible for the restaurant operations of the Metro-arena, whether one 0.5 liter beer really costs 12.90 euros in Kiekko-Espo games.
– The price of 12.90 euros applies to special beer. Solmu Brewery’s Dry Lager beer is on sale in the metro arena, which costs that much, the restaurant manager Niko Karilinna tells Iltalehti by email.
You can get a barley shake from the hall even cheaper.
– As a basic cell, we have Koff III beer, which costs €9.70/50cl (pint/can).
So the price per liter is 19.40 euros.
According to Karilinna, the same basic selection of drinks is available in all outlets and restaurants in the Metro arena. In addition, various wines and special beers are available at different points of sale, which were also presented on the Matsisapuskat account.
A comparison
For the sake of comparison, we also asked Tampere and Helsinki, two other big cities, how much a pint costs in the league game of HIFK, Tappara and Ilves.
In Tampere, Noho Partners is responsible for the restaurant operations at the Nokia Arena. There are several different bars and restaurants in the corridors of the hall, so the prices vary a lot.
– Our selection is quite wide, and we even have our own microbrewery, operational manager of Nokia Arena’s restaurant services Ilpo Kantola tells.
– But in the corridors, a basic domestic lager on tap costs 8.70 euros, and the size of the pint is 0.4 liters, Kantola continues.
In Tappara and Ilves games, the price of a liter of beer in the corridors is therefore 21.75 euros.

Drinks for hockey fans at HIFK games are provided by Red Events Restaurants. The price range is also large in Helsinki’s old ice rink, because so is the selection.
Restaurant manager Noora Luojusen according to HIFK’s games, there are more than ten different beer options for thirsty puck fans.
But the basic cup, i.e. half a liter of Koffi’s three, costs 9.50 euros. The same beer is also available as a 0.4-liter single serving, in which case the price of a mug is 8.40 euros.
The liter price of the larger pint is therefore exactly 19 euros and the smaller one is 21 euros.
At HIFK’s games, beer is therefore cheaper than in Espoo and Tampere.
In addition, HIFK season ticket holders, fan club members and students can get a 0.4 liter pint for 6.30 euros from the corridors of the hall before and after the game. In this case, the price per liter is 15.75 euros.
