A grenade was found in Hoogeveen this morning by someone who was out with a metal detector. The grenade was not armed and was removed by the Defense Explosives Clearance Service (EOD).
According to the police, it is a grenade that came from a German aircraft from World War II. The police do not want to say where the explosive was found in Hoogeveen. “Unfortunately I am not allowed to give this information”, says the local police officer of De Weide en Erflanden.
