H&M Home has launched a collection with designer India Mahdavi. The collection is designed for “everyday life” and includes home textiles such as blankets, cushion covers, placemats and a rug, but also ceramic products such as vases and tableware.
Mahdavi took inspiration for the collection from “the dazzling colors you see when you look at the sun with your eyes closed”. Many of the items feature colorful gradients with bold tones and blurred graphic effects.
“India Mahdavi is a respected designer who brings joy, optimism and color to the interior design world. We wanted to design a poetic and reflective collection that focuses on quality craftsmanship and cheerful colors, and we can’t wait to introduce our customers to India’s impeccable sense of color and design aesthetic,” says Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, Head of Design and Creative from H&M Home.
Mahdavi founded her own design studio more than 20 years ago. She is best known for her colorful style, which is an appeal to design’s ability to uplift moods. The designer currently lives in Paris, she was born in Tehran and grew up between the United States and Europe. Her cosmopolitan life is reflected in her designs, which often take multicultural and unconventional approaches.
The collection will be available in selected stores and the H&M Home online shop from April 28th.
