The Swedish clothing group Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) has opened up another market. On Friday, the company announced the opening of the first H&M store in Ecuador. According to a statement, the store in the Quicentro shopping center in the capital Quito has been open since October 22.
Two more stores are to follow in the South American country later this year. In addition, H&M plans to open an online shop there soon. With the most recent market entry, the clothing chain is now represented in eighty countries.
Macu Alfaro, Country Sales Manager for Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador, was delighted with the successful premiere in Quito: “Our H&M family continues to grow and we are very happy with the great welcome we are receiving from our customers in Ecuador have,” she said in a statement.
