H&M aims to trace 200 million items by 2022

The company Textile Genesis, which was among the finalists of the 2020 Global Change Awards of the H&M Foundation and has been working with the Swedish clothing group ever since, continues his collaboration with H&M. H&M aims to use the company’s technology for all of its products – by the end of 2022 more than 200 million parts should be traceable.

Textile Genesis specializes in the development of blockchain technology to improve traceability along the textile supply chain. After a pilot phase between 2019 and 2021, in which 1.5 million garments were traced, Textile Genesis continues to develop its technology.

In recent years, H&M has decided to focus more on traceability. The company launched several pilot projects and traceability programs to test different approaches and identify the best solution. As part of these processes, new suppliers were also added to the supply chain to expand the company’s sustainable efforts.
