Hlynsson’s connecting goal does not yield any points for Jong Ajax

The second match of Jong Ajax led by Dave Vos has been lost. On a visit to Willem II it became 2-1. Just before half-time, Kristian Hlynsson made it exciting, but it didn’t yield anything.

The second game of trainer Dave Vos therefore did not yield the full loot. On his debut last Monday against MVV Maastricht, it was still 4-2. Freek Heerkens made it 1-0 after eleven minutes. The defender brushed the ball behind Charlie Setford. Jaydon Banel was then able to equalize, but Tristan Gooijer’s cross did not arrive.

Max Svensson made it 2-0 a few minutes later. Willem II then got another big chance through Leeroy Owusu. His assist was just over the goal by Oliver Aertssen. It was Kristian Hlynsson, who brought back the tension from a free kick just before half-time: 2-1.

Despite the small deficit, a draw was never in the cards for Jong Ajax. Pretty soon in the second half, Jizz Hornkamp from De Rijp had a great chance, but his effort was turned by Setford. The goalkeeper got away well after Jeremy Bokilo couldn’t get the ball into the empty goal.

In the remaining part of the game, there were no more chances for either team, so it remained 2-1. Due to the loss, Jong Ajax is sixteenth. TOP Oss will be the next opponent of the young team from Amsterdam on Monday 6 March.

Young Ajax line-up: Setford; Gooijer, Aertssen, Warmerdam, Baas (Muzambo/60); Vos, Hlynsson, Godts (Delgado/88); Martha (Jermoumi/59), Banel, Van Axel Dongen (Hansen/46)
