Groen Geel plays in the play-offs for a ticket in the Korfbal League against HKC. The club from Hardinxveld-Giessendam lost the main division final this weekend and therefore missed direct promotion.
In the relegation group of the Korfbal League, Groen Geel managed to keep three teams under its control, so that Daniel Harmzen’s team was not one of the victims of the reinforced relegation scheme. Next season, the Korfbal League will be reduced from twelve teams to ten.
The Zaankanters finished in third place in the group, which means they have to secure enforcement in the Korfbal League through the play-offs. HKC lost the decisive game against Unitas 15-18. As a result, the club from Harderwijk makes its appearance at the highest level.
If Green Yellow beats HKC twice, enforcement is a fact. Green Yellow starts tomorrow evening with an away game. The return is in Wormer next Saturday. If it is 1-1 after two games, the all-deciding third game will follow on April 26.
Fortune champion
The Fortuna korfball players won the hall title on Saturday. With this, the team from Delft took the title back from PKC, which was the strongest last season. Fortuna won in Ahoy 22-21. In the semi-finals of the play-offs Fortuna turned out to be much too strong for Koog Zaandijk.
