HJK’s season ended in the Champions League qualifiers.

Helsinki Football Club suffered a 0-5 crushing defeat against Viktoria Plzeň in the second leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League in the Czech Republic.
HJK had lost the first leg at home with a score of 1–2 and therefore dropped out of the next round with a total of 1–7.
Plzeň quickly started scoring in front of their home crowd. The second part had been played in the 11th minute, when Ludek Pernica headed the ball from the base of the front post into HJK’s net.
About 10 minutes later Jan Sykora extended Plzeň’s lead to two goals. HJK’s net was swinging already for the third time, when the match had only been played for 31 minutes. This time Lukas Hejda succeeded in scoring from in front of the goal and gave Plzeň a 3–0 lead.
In the second period, Plzeň scored two more goals.
First, in the 73rd minute of the game, Sykora completed his second goal of the match, and just over 10 minutes later Jan Kliment took the home team to a 5–0 lead.
HJK will continue its Euro heaven in the third qualifying round of the Europa League against either Sheriff Tiraspol or Maribor.
