The watch up for auction was originally made by LeCoultre. The clock features a swastika and a Nazi eagle, among other things. According to auction house Alexander Historical Auctions, Hitler would have received the watch in 1933.

French soldier

A French soldier, who is said to have taken the watch as a war souvenir, sold the watch to his cousin. The nephew would in turn have given the watch to another family member, after which it came into the hands of the auction house.

It has not been disclosed who has deposited more than a million for the timepiece. The auction house estimated in advance that the lot would fetch 2 to 4 million dollars. So that has not been achieved for a long time.
