The dog that ran onto the provincial road yesterday afternoon and was hit has died of its injuries. This is confirmed by the police.
The dog suddenly appeared yesterday afternoon around 1 p.m. between the traffic on the N424 between Heerhugowaard and Alkmaar. A motorist tried to avoid the animal, but could not prevent it the dog was hit.
After the accident, witnesses rushed to the injured dog and called the animal ambulance. With unknown injuries, the animal was taken away on a special dog stretcher and taken to the nearest clinic. According to the police, it is a brown-black dog with long ears. The breed is unknown.
The dog would have run amok during a walk. “He was first seen at Luna beach. He eventually hit the bridge on the provincial road and later unfortunately died,” said the police.
