Historic Veurne for the first time in Beauvoorde

For five editions, the city organized the ‘Historisch Veurne’ event in the city center each time. During the last weekend of the Easter holidays, visitors to the event are immersed in historical atmospheres every year. They become acquainted with the folk history during theater walks and many other activities. From this year on, ‘Historisch Veurne’ will travel every year to a sub-municipality of the city, with Beauvoorde as the first stop.

Theater walks

During the theater walks you will get to know the past of one of the most picturesque villages in the Westhoek. The juicy stories of ‘at the bar’ in the local village pub, the etiquette rules in the castle, but also a gruesome triple murder in 1919 are stories that are played by actors such as Wouter Bruneel, Luc Dufourmont, Onno van Gelder Jr., Joris Gulders together with local actors.

Race and live music

In addition, a retro course takes over the Beauvoorde streets. The course races through the picturesque streets of Wulveringem and Vinkem over cobblestones and rural roads. A little further on the occasion square you can enjoy a local snack and drink during live concerts by, among others, the West Flemish group Fokkersvreugde.
