‘His soap is really boring now’

André Hazes Jr. is causing boredom for two major RTL stars with the second season of his real-life soap, namely Luuk Ikink and Rob Goossens. “It’s all really boring now.”

There was a time when André Hazes Jr. hot was: there was a kind of mystery surrounding him, with Yvonne Coldeweijer as the devilish spider in the web. But those times are gone; everything has now been said and people are actually not that curious anymore. The singer was in Ahoy last weekend and was only able to fill the hall at dumping prices.

‘It’s not alive’

André can now also be seen in the second season of his Videoland soap, but no one is talking about that either. It’s just too boring, say Luuk Ikink and Rob Goossens BLVD Podcast. Rob: “Eva from Amersfoort asks us why we haven’t talked about this yet. And I think she actually means: it doesn’t live like that at all.”

Luuk then says: “I saw it, the first episode. And yes, I think that immediately… The reason why we don’t talk about it is: there just isn’t that much happening. We already knew what was happening, because we had already discussed it about a year ago. It has already been fully expanded on all juice channels.”

Rachel drama

It doesn’t appeal to Luuk all that much. “It’s really just a big discussion between him and his old writing team. Well, okay. And then he brings in the drama with his mother in some detours, he beats around the bush a bit, and that’s about it.”

He continues: “But the real tension of: how is André doing is somewhat gone. And that is actually very nice for him, because apparently his life has become a little calmer. Well, that seems very healthy to me. But of course that suddenly becomes a lot less interesting for a documentary.”

Boring lives

Rob thinks that we don’t feel like looking at André who is meditating and manifesting. “Do you know what the problem is? André has become a bit too much like you and me. We are doing well because we have deadly boring lives.”

Luuk: “Yes, and you shouldn’t make documentaries about that.”

Rob: “No, you have to make documentaries about the Verhulstjes and about Koen Kardashian.”

Sparkling lives

André’s life no longer lends itself to a soap opera, Luuk believes. According to him, you indeed need types like De Verhulstjes or Koen Kardashian for that. “Yes, high-profile people with sparkling lives.”

Rob: “We are at our happiest when we are just sitting on the couch at home, and André is now too, and there is nothing wrong with that. But yes, as a documentary it is a little less interesting.”
