TEL AVIV (dpa-AFX) – Israel has asked its citizens to leave Turkey for fear of retaliation. The alert level for the country has been raised to the highest warning level (high threat), the National Security Council announced on Tuesday evening. All Israelis are urged to leave the country as quickly as possible. The background is concerns about attacks in view of the war with the Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
