1/4 Flooding due to a burst water pipe in Breda
Part of the Breda ring road is under water on Sunday afternoon due to a broken water pipe. Because there is a lot of mud on the road, it is closed to all traffic. It concerns the part Teteringen-Prinsenbeek, a piece of about 400 meters. Troubleshooting engineers from Brabant Water hope to have the road clean and dry again for motorized traffic around 4:30 p.m.
The cycle path and pedestrian path next to the Nieuwe Kadijk will not be cleaned until Monday and will therefore remain closed. It is still unclear how the leak started. The police received the first report of flooding around 12:30 p.m. The Arduinstraat, Kapittelweg, Nieuwe Kadijk and Charles Petitweg were soon flooded. Local residents may experience brown water or low water pressure.
Washing machine off
Waterstoring.nl advises local residents to turn off water-using appliances such as boilers, washing machines and dishwashers. Don’t forget to extinguish the pilot light of the geyser.
