Nashville’s High South’s last album was “Peace, Love & Harmony” and was released in 2020. That could also be the title of their new long-playing work. It’s amazing how the band around founding members Jamey Garner and Kevin Campos doesn’t even try to create their own sound! Instead, she unashamedly borrows from country and southern rock and doesn’t leave out any clichés on the “hippie highway”.
High South take their Retromania seriously
Speaking of stereotypes, the Eagles called and they want their cowboy boots and mustaches back! “Bringing Back The Sunshine” would be unthinkable without Jackson Browne, “Carry You With Me” stands shakily on the shoulders of the Doobie Brothers. Still, High South take their Retromania seriously.
