A moving car caught fire on the A7 near Zuidoostbeemster this morning. It is not yet known whether there were any injuries. The road is closed in both directions due to heavy smoke.
Around 11.15 a.m., for unknown reasons, a fire broke out in a moving car on the A7. While driving, smoke suddenly billowed from the vehicle, after which it caught fire a few moments later.
Lots of smoke development
Coincidentally, an ambulance was on the highway at the same time, helping to block the road until the fire department arrived. Because the smoke blew over the entire highway, Rijkswaterstaat closed the N9 near Zuidoostbeemster in both directions.
