  • HIFK won TPS in Helsinki with an extra time of 4–3 and equalized the winnings in the semi-finals series with 1–1.
  • Miro Karjalainen, a well-known defender for his physical play, shot the solution goal.

Fish debts had already accumulated from last semifinal series, from which the people of Turku pushed to the finals 3–1.

In the regular season, TPS was better with the same match wins, and it took 2–0 goals to open the semifinals in Turku on Sunday.

Including the regular season, TPS had won the previous three with mutual goals 10-2, and Andrei Karejev had played two consecutive draws against HIFK, with TPS winning the final regular season 4-0.

If that wasn’t enough here, then today in Helsinki TPS led the second match of the semi-finals three times.

However, HIFK did not give up. It leveled three times and settled for a 4-3 win in the first overtime.

Älämölö

The winning goal was blown away by the blue line Miro Karjalainenfor whom the hit was the first in the playoffs.

– He will probably go to the top, there haven’t been an awful lot of those goals anyway, the 25-year-old defender described his valuable hit, which leveled the series to 1-1.

He thanked Jere Innalaa good feed and Eetu Koivistoista from the mask, and a heavy shot coming directly from the feed sank exactly into the top corner of the goal.

– The whole season has been trained to get a puck towards the goal in the air, and now it’s gone, Karjalainen sculpted.

– On the shield side I shot, there will be ribs if the puck doesn’t go to the finish.

The reception of teammates in the locker room was raucous.

– It doesn’t matter who decides it, it’s always absurd.

Under the skin

In the third installment, Karjalainen took over TPS in the form of a vertical press Jack Rodewaldin with.

– It’s part of my game, but it has to be smart, Karjalainen comments on the physical side.

The two-meter and 106-kg colossus from Vihti represented HPK for the periods 2017–20 and received 307 cooling minutes in addition to the Finnish Championship (2019).

In HIFK, unnecessary coolers have been reduced, and this season Karjalainen sat “only” 32 minutes in the regular season. He justifies the trend with better nerve control.

– I have had a good way to control myself a little better between the ears, that there would be a little more than just air in it.

The man also gave an example of his methods.

– If you notice that you are starting to go over, so to speak, you are closing your eyes and thinking about something completely different for 10-15 seconds. Then take a deep breath, so at least so far it has helped.

TPS’s gold helmet has most often been caught in Karelia’s bear in the first two semi-final matches Markus Nurmi.

– Grass and everyone, top players, Karjalainen gave recognition to a tough opponent.

– This is part of a pleiadian disc that is being tried to go under another skin. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can’t. This is the best hockey thing there is.
