Helsinki IFK announced on Tuesday that the head coach of the representative team playing in the Veikkausliiga will change.
Portuguese Bernardo Tavares has resigned for family reasons. Tavares’ head coach contract was published at the end of December, so the work lasted just over three months.
HIFK says the rest of the coaching team will continue.
– We understand the reasons and backgrounds of his solution. There will be surprising situations like this in football. Naturally, we reacted quickly and immediately launched the application process for a new head coach, said HIFK’s sports director in a press release. Mika Lönnström.
HIFK opened the season last Saturday with a loss when it lost to SJK 1-2.
