A terrible tragedy for Jochem van Gelder: he makes frantic attempts to get rid of his very expensive villa in some hamlet, but there is one major problem…
Jochem van Gelder has already tried it, but without success. And now he is trying again: selling his very expensive villa in the tiny village of Beneden-Leeuwen, somewhere in Gelderland. The inside of the house is a bit dated here and there, but overall it looks luxurious. And important: energy label A.
Jochem’s villa
With an area of 343 square meters, it is a huge house, not to mention the plot: two thousand square meters. “In 2006, the current residents almost completely rebuilt the villa under architecture in a modern style, using beautiful materials and a high-quality finish,” says the Funda advertisement.
It unique selling point? “The size of the plot provides optimal peace and privacy and the fantastic south-facing garden ensures that you can enjoy the sun from early spring to late autumn.”
Huge warehouse
What else is to the south? A huge warehouse which is so gigantic that you can see it from every room in the house sees. Jochem has put a few trees in front of it, but in between there is still a gigantic gray monster lurking at you. So much for a panoramic view for the 1.2 million euros the villa is for sale for.
The Weekend is therefore very seriously concerned. The magazine points out that Jochem also tried to sell that villa six years ago. “However, it turned out to be a tragedy to lose him, and after years of being on the sidelines, the former Talker is now trying again.”
Special story
This house has a special story, Weekend knows. “For he built it on the foundations of his father’s house. He bought it from his mom and dad to turn it into a beautiful palace for his family after their passing. No expense was spared to give it a luxurious look, and it was more than successful.”
But yes, that warehouse… “The only disadvantage to this house – and perhaps that is why we were unable to get rid of it – is that it is right in front of a large warehouse. It borders the backyard. Now Jochem has tried to mask that with some trees, but it is not a very chic living environment.”
1.2 million euros
So the big question is: will Jochem lose this house or will this be a hindrance? De Weekend has a hard idea: “The question is whether a buyer would be willing to pay almost 1.2 million for that.”
The reason for the sale? “It became too big for him and his wife when the children left home.”
