The search eventually yielded six April fish. There was one on the coffee bag of Rosa (Annick Segal) and on the T-shirt of Eddy (Daan Hugaert). But one also popped up in a picture frame on the wall in Bar Madam. Simonne’s (Marleen Merckx) biscuit with her coffee and Lowie’s (Mathias Vergels) sweets were both fish-shaped. Kobe (Reynout Dekimpe) took care of the sixth find, because it was no coincidence that the cook put real fish on a dish in his kitchen. “This was an inside joke of our team for our fans”, explains ‘Thuis’ producer Hans Roggen. “A few seasons ago we did something similar and there was a glass of bubbly in every scene in one episode. That was also possible, because that episode was broadcast on December 31. That quip was appreciated by the fans. Hence the idea of ​​doing it again. This time we chose April fishing. Such jokes should be allowed every now and then. As long as they don’t demand the attention of the ordinary viewer, because that’s not allowed. The story we want to tell must always prevail.”
