At least four civilians, including three children, between 10 and 14 years old, have died and two have been injured in an attack this Sunday with a drone attributed to Israel that hit the car in which they were traveling in the town of Aynata, in the southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) broke the news, but it was Hasan Fadlaha, deputy of the political branch of Hezbolça, a Shiite militia that has support from Iran, who revealed this attack on Sunday afternoon. Iran threatens
In the Iranian capital, the Iranian Defense MinisterBrigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtianiwarned the United States this Sunday that “it will be severely hit” if it fails to stop the Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip.
“Our advice to Americans is to immediately end this war and impose a ceasefire. Otherwise they will be severely beaten,” Ashtiani said in statements reported by Iranian public television Press TV.
“We have always advised Americans not to support the Zionist regime,” he added before listing a series of US “strategic mistakes”particularly those corresponding to the Middle East.
For this reason, he believes, the Americans and the Israelis “are now in a ua quagmire from which they try to escape” while transmitting “despair and fear.”
Weekend of tension
The statements by the Iranian Defense Minister come 24 hours after a celebration of the 44th anniversary of the attack by Shiite Islamist revolutionaries on the US embassy, the central act of the regime change in Iran in 1979.
