Seven years after the premiere of The Pauper’s Paradise director Tom de Ket and Wolter Lommerde make a last attempt to play their musical for an audience. In 2022, after a two-year postponement due to corona, the makers were dealt another blow. Stricter nitrogen measures led to a new series of their performance The Pauper’s Paradise to be unsettled. A diesel generator and travel movements by the public would cause too high nitrogen emissions next to the Fochteloërveen nature reserve.
