Hertha’s new coach starts today, internal medical and performance tests are on the program for the players. But there is more at stake for Black.

Sandro Schwarz will decide today on the future of leader Prince Boateng (35) and the successor to goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow (30), who was loaned to Schalke.

BZ knows the tendencies

► This is how it looks at Boateng. Schwarz recently said: “We will have a face-to-face meeting and not a phone meeting either. Just have an open, honest, personal conversation. It is important to me to feel his emotional state, to hear his point of view. And then we will make the decision.”

BZ learned: The trend is very strongly towards whereabouts, Schwarz and manager Fredi Bobic (50) now want to bag the final decision. Boateng is to remain an extended arm, mouthpiece and leader for another season. However, he does not get any guarantees of use.

This is how it looks in the goalkeeper question

Schwolow was loaned to promoted Schalke for a season after poor performances, Stefan Ortega and Timo Horn (both 29) are the hottest candidates as the new number 1.
