According to BZ information, Hertha striker Davie Selke (27) is about to switch to Bundesliga competitor Cologne. The “Kicker” first reported on the agreement between the two sides.
Selke’s contract in Berlin expires in the summer. The attacker, who came to Hertha from Leipzig in 2017, earned around three million euros a year – that’s why the capital club should now let Selke move to FC on a free transfer, where a new striker was urgently needed recently.

According to BZ information, Selke should complete the medical check next week and start training with coach Steffen Baumgart (50) as soon as possible.
The attacker, who is popular with the fans, played 126 competitive games at Hertha, in which he scored 26 goals and provided a further 16 assists.
This season, under coach Sandro Schwarz (44), Selke was only the second choice behind summer signing Wilfried Kanga (24). In this season, Selke therefore mostly only played as a joker – not enough for the ambitious professional. An early exit is imminent.

Despite the Hertha farewell, Berlin will continue to play a role in Selke’s life: The professional bought an apartment in the capital in the summer of 2021. Despite his move, Berlin will always remain a home for the striker, his wife Evelyn and daughter Aiyana.
In the new year, Selke should no longer go hunting for Hertha, but for FC.
