A liberation for the blue and whites – made possible by a stroke of genius by two Hertha players!

In the 49th minute, the capital city conquered the ball far into the Augsburg half. Marco Richter (24), who has made 109 Bundesliga appearances for FCA, puts the ball back from the right baseline to the six-yard circle, where Suat Serdar (25) kicked it (!) through Rafal Gikiewicz’s legs into the goal magic – 1:0!

Not only Hertha is rewarded, but also Felix Magath (68). The trainer gets a big smack on the cheek from assistant Mark Fotheringham (38) in the storm of cheers. No wonder emotions are spilling over.

The game ripples along for a long time, not living on goal chances, but on the commitment of both teams. After about 15 minutes, Santiago Ascacibar (25) and Niklas Dorsch (24) had to be treated on the pitch for a few minutes after a header duel.

Both suffer a laceration, but can continue playing. It’s a good sign for Hertha that Ascacibar, one of the greatest fighters, is also fit for the next few games.

Then the Old Lady must win the next relegation finals.
