Pal Dardai has not been the coach of Hertha BSC since November. The club legend’s contract with the capital club is still running. That should probably change soon – also for another icon.
The Pal Dardai chapter at Hertha BSC will soon be over after around 25 years. According to a report by “Bild”, the record player and former coach of the Berlin Bundesliga club has agreed to a termination agreement. The 46-year-old will soon be leaving his great love, but should receive a seven-figure sum for it, it said. A Hertha spokeswoman confirmed the newspaper’s talks: “We have agreed not to disclose their content.”
Dardai has a contract as first-team coach until the end of the month. He took over the post at the Bundesliga team in January last year and saved the team from relegation. In November 2021, he and his assistant coaches were dismissed. At the general meeting after the Bundesliga final, Hertha’s sports director Fredi Bobic did not want to comment specifically on the future of Dardai, who is said to have had a permanent contract since his time as a coach with the capital club’s juniors.
