A few days before the fourth day of the second division match on Saturday against Fürth, there is a huge gap in Hertha’s squad!
After Suat Serdar (26) went on loan to Verona, Hertha ran out of midfield players. At the 0:3 in Hamburg, six different professionals played in the center, none of them was a trained midfielder.
It is therefore clear that at least two new midfield players should come to Berlin by the transfer deadline on September 1 – above all Diego Demme (31) from Naples.
Hertha has been in agreement with the six for weeks about a change. Thanks to the transfer income for Marco Richter (25), who went to Mainz for around three million euros, there could finally be movement in the transfer poker game with the Italian club.
► Nevertheless, the capital club is looking for further reinforcements – and has a clubless professional on the list. According to BZ information, the Hertha managers are said to have dealt with Stef Peeters (31). Curious: The Belgian is already following Hertha’s Instagram channel.
Peeters was active for Eupen in the domestic league last season, where he played together with Hertha striker Smail Prevljak (28). The central midfielder has been looking for a club since his contract ended in early July.
Recently, Standard Liège was also interested – the club, like Hertha, is part of the football network of US investor 777. The joint scouting system also drew the attention of Berliners to Peeters when they were looking for reinforcements.
