Mediocrity is not his thing, so there was a clear message to the team! With 17 points from 13 games, Hertha is currently in 12th place. Not enough for coach Pal Dardai (47) – he also said that to his team before the Rostock game (0-0).
BZ found out: The coach is demanding 27 points by the winter break. This means that the Blue-Whites cannot lose any of the last four games (in Hanover, against Elversberg, in Kaiserslautern, against Osnabrück). Three wins and a draw are required to reach the required 27 points.
Dardai doesn’t like the no-man’s land of the table
Dardai recently said: “As a coach you have to set goals. I can’t say that we are happy in the no man’s land of the table.”
True! The club, the fans, the entire environment – everyone dreams of more.
The coach also knows that: “If things go well, we can be in fourth or fifth place at Christmas and then dream of something nice.”
That’s exactly why there was the point announcement: “We talked about it, we wrote it on the board, what number of points we want to achieve in which game. This should provide relief, not inhibition. You don’t have to play with fear. It should give the feeling that you can give it your all and the coach won’t be mad if you lose.”
He has always tried to tickle his players with such maneuvers. According to his calculations, Hertha is two points down after the two draws.
According to Dardai’s points plan, that has to change with a win on Friday in Hanover (6:30 p.m.).
