Hamburg wins the top game of the 2nd Bundesliga 3-0 against relegated Berlin and thus shoots Hertha deep into the crisis.

18 minutes: The HSV celebrates the 1-0 lead – but too early. Bicycle kick, slat rebound, Glatzel dusts off. But the video referee (VAR) intervened and recognized an offside position in advance.

Only two minutes (20th) later there are penalties. Ex-HSV player and birthday boy Toni Leistner (33) brings down Glatzel in the penalty area. Referee Willenborg points straight to the point. The VAR gets involved again. The scene is checked for minutes. Willenborg has to go to the sidelines. His decision: no penalty. Before the foul, Bénes handles the ball.

Then the ball is finally in for HSV – and this time it counts too.

38 minutes: Hamburg again bridge the left midfield with a fine combination. Glatzel sees fellow striker Jatta on the right and pushes the ball to him. Jatta nets an unchallenged. His first goal of the season – 1:0 HSV!

After before the break, HSV continues. Again there are penalties – this time the VAR remains silent. In added time in the first half, Hertha defender Marton Dardai blocked a shot from Bénes in the penalty area with his hand. Bénes scores himself and converts safely into the middle – 2:0 HSV!

In the 82nd minute, Glatzel increased the lead to 3-0 for the home side. Nothing comes from the Berliners anymore.

With the win, HSV conquered the top of the table for the time being. Hertha remain pointless, goalless in the league for 270 minutes and also without a chance in Hamburg. The HSV is great, Hertha only to cry.
