Hertha trainer Sandro Schwarz hopes that the training camp in England will not only improve sporting skills, but also promote team spirit off the field.
“Now we fly away again as a group. That promotes growing together, getting to know each other even better,” said the 43-year-old. “It will be about the next development steps. First of all in the way we want to play football. We want to go into more detail there,” said the new head coach of the Berlin Bundesliga club of the German Press Agency.
The Berliners travel to the training camp at St. George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent on Tuesday and will stay there until July 23. The national players, who started training later, will be integrated into this process as quickly as possible, said Schwarz, who has been the capital club’s new coach since the end of June. Hertha had only been able to prevent relegation to the second division in the previous season in the relegation.
“We will continue to work on the principles of working against the ball and offensive switching, but also possession of the ball. There will not be one focus. It’s going to be complex because we want to cover all the phases in our training sessions,” Schwarz said. Even the training camp in Kienbaum, not far from the capital, has recently brought the team forward.
