Canceled for the time being
Hertha BSC has to do without Marco Richter for the time being. The 24-year-old attacker, who was signed by FC Augsburg last summer and has scored six goals in 33 games for the “Old Lady” to date, was diagnosed with a tumor in his testicles during a urological examination, which has to be surgically removed.
According to the Berliners, a final diagnosis is still pending, after which further information on the healing process will be provided. A malignant tumor in the testicles of central defender Timo Baumgartl from 1. FC Union Berlin was only discovered in May. The 26-year-old had started running in the last few days after chemotherapy.
“Marco gets every conceivable support from us in this situation. We hope that he will return to our circle healthy as soon as possible,” said Hertha’s sporting director Fredi Bobic.
