As expected, Omar Alderete will not return to Hertha BSC after his loan to FC Getafe. On Thursday, the Spanish top flight club confirmed that the centre-back has signed a long-term contract until June 30, 2028.
The 26-year-old left Berlin last summer for Getafe, which had a purchase option built into the loan contract. A report by “foosball” according to this was not drawn. Instead, the clubs negotiated a new transfer fee of 4 million euros. Alderete is seeded this season and has featured in 26 games.

In LaLiga, Getafe is in 16th place with the last two matchdays to go, level on points with Real Valladolid in 18th relegation zone (to the table). The club has to do without Enes Ünal (26) in the fight to stay up. The top scorer (15 goals, 5 assists) is out with a cruciate ligament tear, as he announced on his social media channels on Thursday.
