“Kicker” report
The restructuring of the squad continues at Hertha BSC – especially on the defensive. After Jordan Torunarigha (24) was drawn to KAA Gent, according to the “kicker”, Maximilian Mittelstädt (25) and Omar Alderete (25) are also about to jump with the Berliners. With Marvin Plattenhardt (30), who is planned by new coach Sandro Schwarz as a regular in the back left, talks are to be started promptly about extending the contract that expires in 2023.
As a result, Mittelstädt’s prospects at Hertha have deteriorated significantly. The Berlin native is therefore considering a change. According to the “Kicker”, Mittelstädt deals very specifically with requests from other clubs. At Alderete, the goal after the loan to FC Valencia should be Spain again: The Paraguayan is about to move to FC Getafe. According to “Marca”, the fee should be well below Valencia’s purchase option (7.5 million euros): Alderete should flush around 4 million euros into Hertha’s coffers.

Sturmpuzzle from Hertha BSC: Ajorque only comes when Piatek goes
The situation in the center of the storm looks more difficult. Due to the muscular problems of Stevan Jovetic (32), loan returnees Krzysztof Piatek (27) and Davie Selke (27) are currently fighting for the regular place – according to the magazine, both are actually for sale. Especially with Piatek, the question arises as to whether or how long he will stay. The market situation is currently difficult for him.
The potential successor is already ready with Ludovic Ajorque (28), the “kicker” confirms a corresponding report from “L’Équipe”. The goalscorer from RC Strasbourg Alsace is said to have even been to Berlin. But as long as top earner Piatek is at Hertha, there is neither the necessary money – Strasbourg’s transfer fee is said to be 15 million euros – nor space for Ajorque.

Sports director Fredi Bobic said that Piatek “must step up now”, but also emphasized: “Krzysztof has very good finishing qualities. He suits the football that Sandro Schwarz wants to play better than the way we’ve played up to now.” Coach Schwarz had words of praise: “He’s been there in training from day one and was very diligent straight away. Now it’s all about the rhythm of the game, in order to gain security for our processes.”
