Bundesliga club Hertha BSC also felt the effects of the corona crisis strongly in the past season.
As the club announced on Thursday, the spin-off Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA generated a total of 83.3 million euros from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. In the previous season, which was already affected by the pandemic, the club had recorded a deficit of 59 million euros.
This time, 114.5 million euros in income contrasted with 197.8 million euros in expenses. According to Finance Director Ingo Schiller, “half of the deficit can be explained by Corona and half by investments in previous years”.
Meanwhile, however, the equity of the professional department grew by 65.5 million euros to 212.2 million euros, while liabilities fell from 141.8 million to 99.7 million euros.
