Hertha BSC | Korkut delivers a clear promise

Hertha BSC is in dire relegation troubles in the Bundesliga and is the worst team in the second half of the season with just two points from seven games. However, head coach Tayfun Korkut remained convinced that he could soon turn the tide in the relegation battle.

Most recently, the Berliners have already been passed down to the relegation rank and will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the home game next weekend (Saturday from 3:30 p.m.).

Hertha coach Korkut has announced a trend reversal for the last ten games this season: “We now have ten games left in which we will keep going, continue to defy all resistance and therefore also get the points that we need,” he promised Berliner in conversation with “Sport Bild”.

The 47-year-old has no doubts about staying up in the league: “In the end we will be above the line!”

Korkut already has a concrete plan ready for the coming matches as to what needs to be improved most urgently in Hertha’s game: “We have to do the simple things exceptionally well. To do this, I rely on clarity and directness in my speech. Content is what matters to me more important than volume.”

The head coach of the capital club also emphasized that he still sees a “great cohesion” in the team, as well as the high quality of his players in everyday training. “I feel that nobody ducks and whines here,” added Korkut.

In addition to the poor performances on the pitch, Hertha BSC recently had to deal with major personal adversities and complained about eight corona failures before the league game against RB Leipzig.

Nevertheless, Korkut underlined: “We remain positive and still have to create a stable construct to defy the odds.” He doesn’t see the precarious situation at Hertha BSC as a crisis, but as a challenge and is totally convinced of the company’s success: “You can’t achieve anything if you always stay in your comfort zone. This situation is an opportunity for all of us .”
