Jeremy Dudziak (30) has accepted the offer to return to Hertha BSC. The Old Lady announced this quietly in the middle of a report on the test match against VfL Wolfsburg on Wednesday, which was won 2-0 (0-0). Dudziak was on the pitch for over 90 minutes.

The left-back, whose contract with the Berliners expired in the summer after two years, is “from now on once again an integral part of our capital club,” it said. After a long rehab, Dudziak should initially collect playing time in the U23 in the Regionalliga Nordost and thus have the opportunity to be recommended for the professional squad again.

Hertha initially did not offer Dudziak an extension because the one-time Tunisian international, who can also be used variably in midfield, was often injured. He missed almost all of last season due to a hip injury. Now the form is getting better day by day. Dudziak’s market value is 550,000 euros.

“Jerry played a really good game, especially in the second half,” praised coach Stefan Leitl after the test against the Wolves. “It has been confirmed that he can still be a factor for us – if he sticks with it, accepts the plan we have for him, continues to gain match practice over playing times in the U23 and then he gets to 100 percent.”
