Hertha BSC suffered their second friendly defeat under new coach Sandro Schwarz.
The Berlin Bundesliga club lost in Burton in a match during the training camp in England Premier League returnees Nottingham Forest 1: 3 (1: 2).
After the 0: 1 against the English third division team Derby, Hertha fell behind early on. The hosts took the lead in the ninth minute after an attack down the right flank and a long ball from the left into the penalty area. In the middle, Lyle Taylor only had to push the ball over the line.
After a major mistake by keeper Rune Jarstein, who was unable to hold the ball in the corner of the box, Nottingham, in whose ranks former Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi plays, increased. And again it was Taylor, after 20 minutes Hertha were already chasing a 0:2 deficit.
The 19-year-old center forward Derry Scherhant scored the first goal just before the break. But it didn’t come to anything with a draw or even a win after Schwarz made nine substitutions during the break, and veteran Kevin-Prince-Boateng was among the substitutes.
The decision in the second half, in which Hertha had more of a share of the game, was extremely unfortunate when Lukas Ullrich involuntarily scored his own goal (84th).
