The Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC is facing a change in the summer. There could be drastic changes, especially in the left-back position.
The contracts of homegrown Maximilian Mittelstädt and captain Marvin Plattenhardt expire at the end of the season. According to “kicker”, talks about an extension have not yet been held with either of them.
According to the report, Plattenhardt is still waiting for an offer from the Hertha bosses. It is unclear whether the former national player will be offered an extension of his working paper – probably also for budget reasons. With an estimated annual salary of 2.5 million euros, Plattenhardt is said to be one of the top earners at Hertha BSC.
Further cooperation with Maximilian Mittelstädt is also not planned. The 25-year-old is aiming for a “change of air”. According to “kicker”, the former U21 national player is drawn to another Bundesliga club. Which club it is, however, is open.
Mittelstädt has only played seven times in the Bundesliga this season. Precisely because of the fluctuating performance of Plattenhardt, who has 13 appearances, the homegrown hoped for more playing time.
Mittelstädt was already associated with an escape from Berlin in the summer. At that time, the “kicker” also reported that the 25-year-old was “very specifically” dealing with a Hertha farewell. In addition, there have already been inquiries from other clubs. But there was no change.
Hertha departures already in winter?
Some players could already leave Hertha in winter. Vladimir Darida, Davie Selke and Peter Pekarik are considered potential candidates for a farewell.
After 15 Bundesliga match days, Hertha BSC is only 15th in the Bundesliga table. The old lady is only one point ahead of the first relegation zone.
