This withdrawal comes as a complete surprise! Hertha’s brand boss Paul Keuter (47) leaves the club.
The executive board member will officially say goodbye on September 30th. Hertha confirmed the upcoming separation to BZ.
One thing is clear: Keuter’s time in the club is over. Most recently, Keuter was responsible for the areas of corporate social responsibility, digital transformation, identity and internationalization at the Berliners.
The club brought Keuter in 2016. Since then, Keuter has been responsible for many campaigns, some of which were controversial in the fan scene.
For example, in October 2017, in the home game against Schalke (0: 2), the professionals got on their knees before kick-off to symbolically show their solidarity with NFL players in the USA, who were using this gesture to protest against racism and police violence. A statement that caused a lot of praise but also a lot of criticism due to its publicity.
The idea of replacing the entry anthem “Nur nach Heimat” with the song “Dickes B” also went to Keuter’s account. After much resentment from the fan scene, the decision was reversed.
At the same time, Keuter initiated and supported many social projects as a representative of the association. A code of ethics was developed under Keuter and the club was recently awarded for its sustainability efforts.
Hertha and Keuter are now going their separate ways!
