Ocean sailor Boris Herrmann completed the transatlantic regatta “Transat Jacques Vabre” in seventh place with the Malizia-Seaexplorer.
Together with co-skipper Will Harris, the 42-year-old reached the Caribbean island of Martinique (6,945 kilometers) on Sunday after twelve days and nine hours. The winner of the race from Le Havre in the IMOCA class was the Frenchman Thomas Ruyant.
The start of the race was postponed due to hurricane Ciaran. Herrmann, third in the Ocean Race this year, competed with the Malizia against 39 competitors.
