Herrenausstatter.de opens a branch in the Metaverse

The online fashion retailer Herrenausstatter.de has opened its own presence in the Metaverse. On Friday, the company presented its digital 3D department store in a fully functional beta version. The brand partners of the e-commerce specialist could now “open their own stores on the platform and operate them under the umbrella of men’s outfitters,” according to a statement.

The next steps are already planned: “We will still be integrating 3D digitization of our fashion in 2022, customers can then try on the fashion virtually using avatars,” explained Renata DePauli, the founder of the online men’s fashion retailer and head of the operating company DePauli AG. “Our customers will also be able to pay with crypto currencies in addition to normal payment methods. Our own tech platform is progressing very quickly.”

According to the company, the technical architecture of the new Metaverse branch was developed in-house. The online retailer announced that “probably the world’s first complete fashion purchase in the Metaverse was recently processed via the ‘QS-Pay’ transaction and payment system”.
