Heroic dog prevents owner from being robbed by biting thief

On the Tjotterlaan in Zaandam, two men on a scooter tried to rob a woman last Saturday night around 1.40 am. She couldn’t do this because the dog interfered. He bit one of the thieves in the arm and they drove off without any loot.

The woman walks around the block with her dog that night. When she crosses from the Jachtenlaan to the Tjotterlaan, a scooter suddenly drives up behind her on the sidewalk. Shortly after, the scooter stops next to her. The rear of two men try to take her things by force, after which a struggle ensues in which the woman is injured.

The driver of the scooter also starts to interfere and then the dog intervenes. He jumps up and bites the driver in the arm, the Zaanstreek police writes on Facebook. Once bitten, the men give up and quickly drive away.

The police are investigating the case and are looking for people who have seen something or who have CCTV footage. The gray or blue scooter, drove off quickly in the direction of the Dr. Martin Luther King Road. The men on scooters are estimated to be between 17 and 20 years old.
