The battle for second place in the second division between AFC and Koninklijke HFC has ended in 3-3. After 87 minutes it was 0-3 in Amsterdam, but the home team miraculously equalized.
Mehmet Yuksel gave Royal HFC a deserved lead in the 25th minute. He scored with a nice bow ball. Raily Ignacio then had the equalizer on his foot, but his effort was blocked at the last minute. The home team also hit the post, but after the break it was HFC that struck the clock.
Sietse Brandsma was knocked out in the penalty area by AFC goalkeeper Patrick Zonneveld. However, the awarded penalty was stopped by the keeper. Still, Brandsma quickly made it 0-2. When Tros made it 0-3 after 79 minutes, the game seemed over.
From 0-3 to 3-3 in six minutes
AFC showed resilience and made it 1-3 via an own goal by Oscar Wilffert in the 88th minute. In injury time, Joel Tillema signed for the second AFC goal, after which faith was suddenly back. Ignacio turned the game upside down by making it 3-3 in the 94th minute.
Tim Linthorst of AFC then received his second yellow card and did not make it to the end of the North Holland squatter. The draw is a major blow through the bill for Koninklijke HFC, because leader Katwijk did win. The gap between numbers one and two of the second division is seven points. Number four AFC has four points less than the Royal.
